SPF, which abbreviates Sender Policy Framework, is a verification system that is aimed at stopping the so-called e-mail forging. Basically, it indicates sending some message from one e-mail address and making it appear to be sent from a different one with the idea to scam in some manner the person getting it. When the SPF protection is running for a domain, a record which includes all the mail servers authorized to email messages with addresses within the domain is made. The record is placed on all the DNS servers that route the web traffic worldwide, so they all will identify if an e-mail message originates from a trustworthy server or not. The verification is conducted at the first server where the e-mail goes through and in the first case the message is forwarded, while in the second one it's removed and it never reaches the intended recipient. Applying SPF records for your domains will prevent all unauthorized people from using your emails for malicious purposes.

SPF Protection in Cloud Hosting

SPF protection can be activated for any domain hosted in a cloud hosting account on our cloud platform with just a few clicks. The feature is available in the Emails section of our advanced Hepsia Control Panel and what is needed to activate it is to select one of your domain names from the drop-down list and enter the hostnames as well as the IPv4 or IPv6 addresses of the email servers which will be certified to send email messages from your email addresses. As an added option you can even restrict the messages to be sent from your domain only if it includes our MX records, in other words when our servers handle the e-mail addresses for it, not a third-party supplier. This solution offers you the highest level of protection, but it's not applicable if only your website is on our servers while the email addresses for the domain are managed somewhere else. In either case, the SPF protection service will keep your emails safe from being used for spam and scam purposes.

SPF Protection in Semi-dedicated Servers

If you have a semi-dedicated server account from our company, you can protect your emails by enabling the SPF protection service for every domain name hosted in your account with only a couple of clicks. This can be done in the Emails section of the Hepsia Control Panel that is included with the semi-dedicated accounts and even when you have no previous practical experience with such matters, you will not have any difficulties to enable the security. All that you'll need to do is to select a domain from a drop-down menu and after that type the mail server hostname and IPv4 or IPv6 address. As soon as the new record propagates, messages from your emails will be delivered worldwide only if they are sent from that server. In case your email addresses are handled by us and not by a third-party provider, you will also be able to activate an option for email messages to be sent only when the domain name includes our MX records and this would be the safest option.
